DONALD Trump last night overcame the first major obstacle to his dream of building a £1 billion golf resort in Scotland.
But councillors in Aberdeenshire only gave the US tycoon’s controversial development the go-ahead by seven votes to four.

A final decision on the businessman’s bid to build the “greatest golf course in the world” at the Menie Estate will now be taken next week.
However, the two-and-a-half-hour meeting ended in anger and rancour, after the Trump executive charged with masterminding the resort development rounded on the convener of the local planning authority – the Formartine area committee – who had accused the billionaire of arrogance.
